Application Deadlines: Applications must be received in your county 4-H office by the first weekday in March. County 4-H Staff must send approved applications to the Foundation Office to be received by March 10th of March each year.
Eligibility: The qualified candidate must be: 1) a current member of 4-H (enrolled by December 31) who is currently active in 4-H activities and 2) a graduating senior or an individual who has graduated from high school but has delayed going to college for no more than one year. Candidates are only eligible to apply in the spring prior to entering college.
Scholarship Awards: Maine 4-H Foundation will award post-secondary education scholarships in the early summer of each year. Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of demonstrated academic and 4-H excellence. Emphasis is placed on your 4-H experiences, leadership, and service. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants from Maine. The Foundation's post-secondary education scholarships are:
- Maine 4-H Foundation General Post Secondary Education Scholarships
- Wayne S. Rich Scholarship - Maine in odd numbered years
- Azure Dillon 4-H Memorial Scholarship - Maine 4-Her
- Gladys E. Conant Memorial Farm Credit of Maine Scholarship– Students currently enrolled at University of Maine in the College of Natural Sciences Forestry and Agriculture (NSFA). Maine 4-Her planning to continue their post-secondary education at a Maine institution whose objective is to major in a field related to commercial farming, fishing, or forest products or in another field with the intent to work in businesses related to these industries.

- Lafayette Hotels, Morna Rawcliffe, Western Maine MacIntyre Scholarship, and others available as they are funded on an annual basis.

Receiving the Scholarship: Recipients are asked to attend the Foundation’s Annual Meeting Scheduled in early summer to receive the scholarship in person. Scholarships range from $500 to $2,500 in award value.
Payment Requirements: Awards are payable upon successful completion of the first semester of school. To receive the award funds, recipients must mail a completed first semester transcript to the 4-H Foundation Office.
