Since 1992, the Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation has awarded a total of 100 scholarships to young adults wishing to pursue education in agriculture-related fields of study.
High School Seniors Application:
- Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship(s) - $1,500
- Larry J. Green Memorial Scholarship- $1,500
- Gentry Family Agriculture Scholarship - $1,000
The Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship(s) will be in the amount of $1,500. The number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the number of qualified applicants and upon the availabilty of funds. The Larry J. Green Memorial Scholarship is one scholarship in the amount of $1,500. The Gentry Family Agriculture Scholarship is one scholarship in the amount of $1,000.
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:
- Be a high school senior
- Be a resident of Lee County OR
- Be a Lee County Farm Bureau member in good standing or dependent of a Lee County Farm Bureau member in good standing, as defined in the bylaws of the Lee County Farm Bureau
- Be enrolled at a post-secondary school in a field of study for a career connected to agriculture.
- Exhibit potential for successful completion of course of study
The application focuses on criteria such as:
- Academic Achievement
- Demonstrated interest in agriculture and agribusiness
- Evidence that the student has developed a thorough financial plan to pay for their education
- Character and Personality
Additionally, the Gentry Family Agriculture Scholarship guidelines require a miniumum of two years of 4-H or FFA experience and priority consideration will be given to students who are graduating from Dixon and Amboy High Schools.
Terms: All scholarship funds are distributed directly to the student upon submission of final grades to the Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation for the completed semester following the scholarship notification. High School Senior recipient grades will be due by January 15.
Sauk Valley Community College - Ag Scholarship Application:
- Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation SVCC Ag Program Scholarship -- ranging from $500- $1000.
