Since 1992, the Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation has awarded a total of 110 scholarships to young adults wishing to pursue education in agriculture-related fields of study.
High School Senior Scholarship Application
This is an application for:

- Dave Gorman Memorial Scholarship
- Gentry Family Agriculture Scholarship
- Carol & Ted Schoch Memorial Scholarship
- Sylvan & Virginia Leffelman "Leave a Legacy" Scholarship
The Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship(s) will be in the amount of $1,500. The number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the number of qualified applicants and upon the availability of funds.
The Dave Gorman Memorial Scholarship is one scholarship in the amount of $1,500 in remembrance of the late David Gorman, Lee County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
The Gentry Family Agriculture Scholarship is one scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to a qualified student pursuing an agriculture major or career in the ag industry. Established by the Gentry Family, this scholarship recognizes the leaders of tomorrow in the ag industry.
The Carol & Ted Schoch Memorial Scholarship(s) will be in the amount of $1,000-$2,000 based on the number of qualified candidate(s). The Carol and Ted Schoch Memorial Scholarship was established on behalf of Carol and Ted Schoch's passion for young people continuing their growth in education beyond their high school career.
The Sylvan & Virginia Leffelman "Leave a Legacy" Scholarship is one scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a qualified applicant in remembrance of long-time Lee County Farm Bureau members Sylvan and Virginia Leffelman. The Leffelmans took great pride in giving back to their community and making an impact that lives on for years to come.
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:
- Be a high school senior
- Be a Lee County Farm Bureau member in good standing or dependent of a Lee County Farm Bureau member in good standing, as defined in the bylaws of the Lee County Farm Bureau
- Be enrolled at a post-secondary school in a field of study for a career connected to agriculture (OR), pursuing a trade, tech, or certified education course within the Career Technical Education pathway
- Exhibit potential for successful completion of course of study
The application focuses on criteria such as:
- Academic Achievement
- Demonstrated interest in the agriculture industry
- Evidence that the student has developed a thorough plan and goal to complete their educational process successfully
Additionally, the Gentry Family Agriculture Scholarship guidelines require a minimum of two years of 4-H or FFA experience.
Terms: All scholarship funds are distributed directly to the student upon submission of final grades to the Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation for the completed semester following the scholarship notification. High School Senior recipient grades will be due by January 15. Applicants consent to media release of photo and name upon announcement of scholarship recipients.
All applications must be completed and submitted by February 15th at 11:59 p.m.
