HCFB Farm Bureau Foundation Agricultural Scholarships
Up to 8 scholarships, $1,500 minimum
Bonus points will be given to applicants that are a Henry County Farm Bureau (Illinois) VOTING member or dependent of a voting member.
Applicants may be a graduating High School Senior or currently enrolled at an accredited College or Technical School as an undergraduate student. Students must be enrolled in an Agriculture curriculum.
Criteria for selection will be achievements in agriculture activities; leadership in school, community and work experience; and scholastic achievements.
Wilbert & Carol Keppy Foundation Scholarships
- 3 scholarships available in the amount of $5,000 each
- Applicants may be a graduating High School Senior or currently enrolled at an accredited College or Technical School as an undergraduate student. Applicant can be majoring in any field, does not have to be Ag-related.
- Applicants must be from a farm family currently engaged in production agriculture.
- Bonus points will be given to applicants that are a Henry County Farm Bureau (Illinois) VOTING member or dependent of a voting member.
- Financial need will be a strong consideration. (Information will be kept confidential.) Selected applicants may be asked to provide tax forms for verification of financial information.
- Criteria for selection will be financial need; achievements in agriculture activities; leadership in school, community and work experience; and scholastic achievement.
Kevin & Karen Urick Farm Bureau Legacy Scholarship
- 1 scholarship available in the amount of $1,000
- Applicants may be a graduating High School Senior or currently enrolled at an accredited College or Technical School as an undergraduate student. Applicant can be majoring in any field, does not have to be Ag-related.
- Bonus points will be given to applicants that are a multi-generational Henry County Farm Bureau® (Illinois) VOTING member or dependent of a voting member.
- Applicants must be a dependent from a farm family currently engaged in production agriculture.
Glenn & Betty DeSmith Memorial Scholarships
- 3 scholarships available in the amount of $5,000 each
- Applicants may be a graduating High School Senior or currently enrolled at an accredited College or Technical School as an undergraduate student. Applicant can be majoring in any field, does not have to be Ag-related
- Bonus points will be given to applicants who are a Henry County Farm Bureau (Illinois) VOTING member or dependent of a voting member.
- Preference given to students who raise or exhibit livestock.
- Criteria for selection will be involvement in the livestock industry and family farm; achievements in agriculture activities; leadership in school, community and work experience; and scholastic achievement.
James Ufkin Memorial Scholarship
1 scholarship available in the amount of $1,000
Bonus points will be given to applicants that are a Henry County Farm Bureau (Illinois) VOTING member or dependent of a voting member.
Applicants may be a graduating High School Senior or currently enrolled at an accredited College or Technical School as an undergraduate student. Students must be enrolled in an Agriculture curriculum.
Requirement for all applications
- High school and current college (if applicable) transcripts and ONE current (dated within one year) letter of recommendation must accompany the application or be received by the deadline.
- Applications must be typed.
- Applications must be received or postmarked by March 7, 2025 to the Henry County Farm Bureau, 128 N. Prospect Street, Cambridge, IL 61238. Applications are available at www.henrycofarmbureau.org or email manager@henrycofarmbureau.org to obtain the scholarship application.
- One-half the amount will be credited the first semester and one-half the second semester.
- Applicants may apply for all scholarships, if eligible, but may win only one scholarship per year. (Excluding the Urick FB Legacy Scholarship) Students are eligible to receive a maximum of two scholarships from FB Foundation, Keppy Foundation, DeSmith Memorial, Ufkin Memorial.
- Personal interviews of the finalists may be requested by the Foundation for a final selection.
- Names of applicants will be removed from the materials prior to evaluation by the selection committee.
- Any portion of the scholarship that is not used for any reason will be returned to the Foundation.
