The California Farm Bureau Scholarship Foundation was organized to give aid to students with a desire to pursue a career in the agricultural industry. Scholarships are awarded annually based upon academic achievement, career goals, extracurricular activities, determination, leadership skills and a commitment to study agriculture.
Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarship
The Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarship is renewable with a completed application each year. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be attending or entering a two-year or four-year college or university and intend to pursue a career with a focus on domestic livestock (except horses), LARGE animal veterinary medicine, rangeland management, with an emphasis towards cattle and sheep ranching with good rangeland practices. Grade point average above C.
The Carolyn S. Richardson Memorial Scholarship
The Carolyn S. Richardson Memorial Scholarship is named for the late CAFB environmental advocate. It will be limited to outstanding applicants intending to pursue studies in agricultural resource issues or as an agricultural lawyer. Only one scholarship will be awarded under the Richardson Memorial Scholarship.

Required Documents
- Two letters of recommendation, dated within the past three months, on official letterhead and signed.
- Your most current high school and/or college transcript(s).
- An essay describing your educational or personal experience that has led you to pursue a university education. Include reasons for your choice of major subject and your present plans for the future.
- A recent, high-resolution headshot.
ELIGIBILITY
This application is for applying to The Rustici Livestock and Rangeland Scholarship and the Carolyn S. Richardson Memorial Scholarship. These are the only two scholarships currently offered by the California Farm Bureau.
