The Hawai‘i High School Hall of Honor was established in 1982 to recognize athletic excellence and achievements of Hawai‘i’s high school athletes.

Twelve student-athletes are selected annually for induction into the Hall of Honor by an independent selection committee. Along with the induction into

the Hall of Honor, each student-athlete receives a $2,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car college scholarship, which may be used to offset college education expenses (tuition, books, and room and board).

Eligibility

Seniors in the state of Hawai‘i who are participating in any official Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association state championship sport(s) are eligible for consideration.

Qualities Considered

Athletic achievement is given primary consideration by the selection committee. Other qualities considered include: versatility,  sportsmanship, leadership, dedication, academic achievement, school activities, community involvement, and character and behavior on and off the playing field.

Nominations

Only official HHSAA Hall of Honor nomination forms completed on the fillable PDF will be accepted.  In lieu of obtaining the athletics' director and principals' signatures, all applications submitted will be sent to athletic directors for verification.

Supporting materials may accompany the nomination form and may include media clippings, personal statements, letters of reference, or grade transcripts. Supporting material is limited to six one-sided 8½” x 11” sheets.  Additional material submitted will not be considered. Applications and materials MUST be submitted via email.

In addition to the completed nomination form and supporting material, two photographs are required: a senior portrait (a head-and-shoulders shot) and an action photograph. Please use either JPEG, PNG or PDF formats only.

Completed nomination forms must be emailed to hoh@hhsaa.org by Monday, May 12, 2025.

Selection Committee Meetings
