The AGC Education and Research Foundation offers undergraduate and graduate level scholarships to students enrolled in ABET or ACCE-accredited construction management or construction related engineering programs. Over $11 million in scholarships have been awarded to more than 4,500 students attending colleges and universities across the country.
ELIGIBILITY
- High school seniors are not eligible. Applicant MUST be a rising college sophomore, junior in a four-year program or rising senior in a five-year program at the time the scholarship is awarded in the fall of 2025. Junior and senior level applicants MUST have one full academic year of coursework remaining at the time of application deadline in the fall of 2025 term (i.e. earliest graduation date of December 2025). Second-year students at a two-year school who are planning to transfer to a four-year program for the Fall 2025 term are also eligible to apply.
- Applicant MUST desire a career in the construction industry.
- Applicant MUST be a full-time student.
- Applicant MUST be enrolled or intend to enroll in either an ABET or an ACCE accredited (or candidate status) program.
- Applicant MUST pursue a B.S. degree in construction or construction-related engineering. A dual degree with construction or construction-related engineering as one part is acceptable.
- Applicant MUST be a U. S. citizen or documented permanent resident of the United States (i.e. must possess a "permanent resident" card).
REQUIREMENTS
- Applicant is responsible for ensuring that all of the following items are submitted by midnight EST November 1, 2024.
- Completed application.
- Evaluation form completed (online) by college faculty member.
- Evaluation form completed (online) by an employment supervisor.
- Official or unofficial transcript of college grades. Unofficial transcripts are accepted if they clearly indicate the academic institution and student's name. Text versions cut and pasted from the school's web site ARE NOT acceptable.
- Spelling and grammar are important and will be considered in the review/rating process.
- Incomplete application packages will NOT be considered.
AWARDS
- Scholarships are for a maximum of $2,500 per student per year and may be renewable for up to three years of undergraduate study in construction-related engineering, construction, or a dual degree with construction or construction-related engineering as one part.
- Applications will be reviewed, and winners selected by the AGC Education and Research Foundation Board of Directors.
- All applicants selected as finalists will be invited to a personal interview with a representative of the AGC Education and Research Foundation. Finalists will be notified in January/February 2025.
- Scholarship winners will be notified in March, 2025 and award(s) will be announced at the AGC Annual Convention.
- Checks will be sent directly to recipients in late summer preceding the school year. Checks will NOT be sent to the recipients' college or university.
- To be considered for renewal annual award installments, the scholarship recipient is required to provide indications of continued enrollment and good standing (min. 2.0
- GPA). Grade transcripts and upcoming class schedules MUST be forwarded at the conclusion of each academic period. Recipients will not be reminded to provide this information; failure to do so will result in non-renewal of scholarship award installments.
- Recipients are encouraged to seek summer employment in construction during undergraduate enrollment.

Applicants must have at least one full academic year remaining at the time of the application deadline in the fall of 2025 (i.e., the earliest graduation date December 2025). Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or documented permanent resident of the U. S. (i.e. must possess a "permanent resident" card).
REQUIREMENTS
The applicant is responsible for ensuring that all items listed below are submitted as one complete package to the AGC Foundation, by midnight EST on November 1, 2024.
- Completed online application form and attachments/enclosures
- One evaluation form completed by applicant's college academic advisor or faculty member (these are completed online and faculty members are given one week's grace period after the deadline but don't delay).
- One evaluation form completed by a recent employer of the applicant (also completed online with one week's grace period).
- Official or unofficial transcript of college grades
NOTE: Incomplete application packages will not be considered.
AWARD
- The scholarship will be in the amount of $3,750 annually to be used for the duration of the student's graduate degree program, up to $7,500.
- Applications will be reviewed and the winner(s) selected by the Board of Directors of the AGC Education and Research Foundation. Reviewers will consider the applicant's interest in a construction industry career, undergraduate academic record, extracurricular activities, employment experience, and evaluations.
- All applicants selected as finalists will be invited to a personal interview with a representative of the AGC Education and Research Foundation. Finalists will be notified in late January/early February 2025.
- Scholarship winners will be notified in March 2025 and the award(s) will be announced at the AGC Annual Convention.
- The initial installment of the award ($3,750) will be sent directly to the student prior to the beginning of the Fall 2025 academic year, with the final installment sent at the beginning of the next academic term. The student's major professor or faculty advisor must transmit a letter to the AGC Foundation immediately following the end of the first academic term, indicating the student's grades and intent to enroll in the following academic term. Check will NOT be sent to the recipient's college or university.
- To receive the initial and final installment, the recipient must provide a copy of grades for his or her most recent term to the AGC Foundation. If the recipient has summer employment, he/she is to provide the AGC Foundation with their basic employment data. Recipients will not be reminded to provide this information. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the scholarship program.
