AGC South Dakota Scholarships

The AGC of SD is deeply committed to a highly educated and trained workforce! Because of this we awarded over $75,000 in 2025 for students pursuing an education in a career field directly related to the construction industry. In continuing this commitment, we plan to do the same in 2026! Applicants must have a good academic standing and be committed to working in South Dakota following graduation.

AGC of SOUTH DAKOTA COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIPS

AGC of SD Sponsored Build Dakota Scholarships at SD Technical Colleges Application Window: January 1 - March 31, 2026

All Other AGC of SD Scholarships Application Window: December 1, 2025  March 31, 2026

The AGC of SD works with a Scholarship Committee to select awards and amounts for the following scholarship pools for students enrolled in construction related degrees or diplomas. An AGC of SD Member sponsorship is required, email here if you need assistance in finding one.

• Build Dakota Partner Scholarship: The remaining 50% scholarship is awarded to an AGC of SD sponsored student(s) that have been selected for a Build Dakota Scholarship and enrolled at a technical institute.
• $10,000 Sioux Falls Contractors Association Scholarship: Awarded to a student(s) enrolled at a college/university or a technical college.
• $5,000 John Shoemaker Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to a high school graduate(s) enrolled at a college/university or a technical college.
• $3,000 SD LICA Scholarship: Awarded to a student(s) enrolled at a college/university or a technical college.
• $2,500 BX Excellence Women in Construction Scholarship: Awarded to a female student enrolled at a college/university or a technical college.
• $2,500 JR Loiseau Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to a student(s) enrolled at a technical college.
• $2,000 AGC Associate Division Scholarship: Awarded to a student(s) enrolled at a college/university
• $1,000 Floyd Knight Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to a student(s) enrolled at a technical institute.

This application is to be completed by graduating high school students or students who are currently enrolled in construction-related education programs at a technical college or college/university. If a question doesn't apply to you please note N/A if an answer is required.

3. Applicants must be sponsored by an AGC Member.

4. To be considered for the Sioux Falls Contractors Association (SFCA) scholarship, applicants must be sponsored by a SFCA Member.

5. Submission of up to three letters of recommendation are optional, but recommended.

6. Current high school students must submit an unofficial high school academic transcript.

7. Current technical college or university students must submit an unofficial college/university academic transcript.
