WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Students with the dedication and leadership potential to work toward criteria to be considered for the Clem Judd Jr. Memorial Scholarship:
A) Must provide proof of Hawaiian ancestry (birth certificate and/or birth certificate of mother, father, grandmother or grandfather).
B) Must be a resident of Hawaii
C) Must be a junior or senior attending an accredited university or college and accepted in a hotel management program.
D) Must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
REQUIREMENTS
The judges' selection of scholarship recipients will be made on the basis of citizenship and leadership as demonstrated through activities and college performance. The following should be submitted with the scholarship application:
A) Current official transcript (or most current transcript if not in school now).
B) Letter of recommendation from a college professor, counselor or dean.
C) Personal statement, 500 words or less, addressing the following question:
The Hawaiian culture is a cherished asset of our state; it is what makes our industry and islands so precious and unique. In the spirit of what Clem Judd, a former President of the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association, stood for , how would you exemplify the Aloha spirit and the act of Ahonui (perseverance/patience), to the industry and our community?
