The Maryland Chapter of the Health Information Management Systems Society (MDHIMSS) is proud to announce that applications are now open for our 2026 Student Scholarship Program. This year, MDHIMSS will award two scholarships of $2,500 each to outstanding students pursuing education in healthcare information technology-related fields.
These scholarships recognize students who demonstrate academic excellence, commitment to advancing the healthcare industry, and strong potential to become the next generation of leaders in healthcare information management and systems.
Requirements
Applicants must meet all the following requirements:
- Be a resident of the state of Maryland
- Must be enrolled in a healthcare-related program at an accredited school.
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
- Previous MD HIMSS scholarship winners are ineligible.
In addition, MD HIMSS will award the recipient with a one-year membership to MD HIMSS, one-year assignment as a student member of the Events Committee and free attendance to the MD HIMSS educational programs for one year.

- College transcript
- Proof of active registration
- Resume
- Personal statement
- Two (2) letters of recommendation. At least one (1) must be from a program instructor. The other may be from a program instructor or an employer/supervisor.
