This scholarship supports Kalamazoo County students who have participated in athletics and community activities.
This scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to students pursuing an undergraduate degree in engineering who exhibit the following characteristics for which “Shep” is so fondly remembered: a relentless curiosity, a spirit of collaboration, a drive for innovation, and a commitment to learning, creating and growing alongside others. Additional application materials are required for this scholarship.

Degrees/Programs: Associate's degree (2-year), Bachelor’s degree (4-year), Graduate degree
Student Types: Current graduate students, Current undergrads, High school seniors
Additionally, students applying for this scholarship must:
- Be a resident of Kalamazoo County or Van Buren County, graduating from, or graduated from a high school in Kalamazoo County or Van Buren County.
- Have a minimum 3 GPA.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Be planning to enroll, or be enrolled in an engineering program.
- Demonstrate a relentless curiosity, a spirit of collaboration, a drive for innovation, and a commitment to learning, creating and growing alongside others.
Acceptance Information
KZCF scholarships may be applied to any items under your school’s cost of attendance (COA). Each school has a different COA that may include items such as tuition, fees, housing, transportation, food, health insurance, etc. You can find your school’s COA online or by asking your financial aid office.
Scholarship payments are sent directly to your institution. We will send one check for the full academic year and ask them to split it evenly between fall and spring semesters. If you’d like it to be applied/split differently, you can make a request on your acceptance form after being awarded.
