Awards Available: 7
Award Deadline: Feb 25, 2025

The Harold Johnson Law Enforcement Scholarship was established in memory of Police Chief Harold "Hal" Johnson to provide financial support to students who plan to pursue a career in police work, corrections or other criminal justice fields. This scholarship honors Hal's 29-year law enforcement career, which began in Sacramento, California, in 1955. Hal rose through the ranks swiftly to become one of the youngest Police Captains in Southern California. In 1970, Hal was selected as the Police Chief for the Town of Los Gatos, California, where he served the community faithfully until his retirement in 1983. After his retirement, Hal continued his career dedication as an educator in law enforcement at local colleges. Hal was a devoted member of the Los Gatos Lions Club for 27 years.
