The Donaghey Scholars Honors Program is open to all majors at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. With a generous financial package, interdisciplinary core curriculum, study abroad, and supportive community, the Donaghey Scholars Honors Program offers a distinctive learning environment for undergraduate studies.
The program replaces the University’s core courses with an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking through the reading of primary texts, writing, and discussion. As the campus-wide honors program, the Donaghey Scholars Honors Program builds a strong foundation for students to pursue their major areas of study at UA Little Rock.
Scholars are challenged academically through the comprehensive interdisciplinary core curriculum. The Donaghey Scholars Honors Program curriculum is designed to promote critical thinking, a skill that is valuable in almost any discipline. Whether graduates choose to continue their education or enter the workforce, Scholars are well-prepared for their next endeavor. Donaghey Scholars have gone on to win competitive national awards and gain acceptance into prestigious graduate schools.
In addition to intellectual stimulation and recognition, the Program offers an intimate atmosphere that encourages success. With only 20-25 students accepted yearly, Scholars form a tight-knit community with one another, and also with faculty and staff. Scholars foster life-long connections within this community, while building relationships within their individual major departments. Diverse, motivated, and engaged, Scholars enjoy an intimate rapport with one another.

Donaghey Scholars receive a substantial financial package totaling between $75,000-$95,000 that includes full tuition, fees, and a generous stipend.
