The CFA Institute Access Scholarship Program is designed to make CFA® Program more available to individuals who may not be able to afford the full program fees.
Award Amount
CFA Program enrollment fee is waived and exam registration is reduced to USD300.
Application Window
Two application windows will be offered during this program year. (20 September 2023 – 31 August 2024)
The second scholarship application window is now closed. Once your application has been processed, you will be notified of a decision by email.
You can expect a decision no later than 5 April 2024.

How to Become a CFA Charterholder
Becoming a charterholder is a defining moment for many investment professionals and exemplifies a strong understanding of advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management skills. We outline everything you need to know to prepare for CFA® Program, so you can feel confident when enrolling.
Enroll and Register online
- Pass CFA Exams
- CFA Program is a three-part exam. Passing the exam for all three levels, along with the applicable practical skills modules, is a requirement to obtain the CFA charter.
- Achieve Qualified Work Experience
- Complete work experience requirements before, during, or after participation in CFA Program. Your experience must be directly involved with the investment decision-making process or producing a work product that informs or adds value to that process.
- Submit Reference Letters
- In support of your membership application, you will need to provide 2-3 professional references. References will be asked to comment on your work experience and professional character.
- Apply online to Become a Charterholder
- Apply online to become a regular member of CFA Institute. Once your application is approved and you have joined CFA Institute, you will have earned the CFA charter.
Enrollment Criteria and Requirements for CFA Program
To become a CFA candidate, you must enroll in CFA Program and register for the Level I exam. In order to enroll you must meet all of the qualifications listed online.

- Be Prepared to Take Exams in English
- Live in a Participating Country
