LEADER-POST FOUNDATION INC

The Foundation has both an educational and a humanitarian mandate, providing financial support to people and projects within the Leader-Post's market area in southern Saskatchewan. While it was originally named in honor of Leader-Post carriers, the Foundation does not restrict its support to past or present carriers.

As of August 2007, the Foundation has awarded $225,000 in scholarships and bursaries to southern Saskatchewan students for post-secondary education. It has also committed a grant of $100,000 for a library in the new mother-baby unit at the Regina General Hospital.

Bursaries of $5,000 each are awarded each summer to a selected number of students who meet the Foundation's criteria for financial assistance. These include school and community involvement, academics and financial need.
