Campus: Facilities, Residence and Location

Vancouver Community College has two campuses: The Downtown Campus and the Broadway Campus.

Downtown Campus focuses on preparing the students in the areas of teaching English as a Second Language, Design, Health Sciences and Services, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, and Baking.

Broadway Campus concentrates on automotive trades, sign language studies, programs for students with disabilities, adult upgrading, university transfer courses, ESL education, music, and career training programs.

Students who want to learn more about their career prospects before applying to VCC can have the privilege of joining the information sessions that the college offers. They include: TESOL Programs, Nursing Unit Clerk, Medical Transcriptionist,Hair Design, Esthetics, ESL Programs, ESL Programs, Dental Hygiene Access for CDAs, Dental Hygiene, Culinary Arts, Community Counselling Skills, Baking and Pastry Programs, Auto Collision, Refinishing, Auto Tech, Heavy Duty Programs, ASL and Deaf Studies (Full-time program), Administrative Assistant, and Addiction Counselling Skills Certificate. Both campuses can easily be accessed by the SkyTrain.

There are a variety of food services offered downtown, including an Asian foods counter, which is staffed by the Asian Culinary Arts students of VCC. Aside from McGregor Childcare Centre in Broadway Campus, students can also find the new health sciences building that boasts of state-of-the-art pharmacies, simulated wards, and training labs.

Student Services and Student Life

The College offers the following services to students: Counselling (the school offers professional and free counselling so students can plan their careers well, manage stress and anxiety, and pass their courses with flying courses. They also help students learn more about study, communication, and stress management skills); Financial Aid & Awards; Human Rights (provides support, mediation services, and assistance in conflict resolutions in areas of harassment and discrimination); Health Services; and Childcare Centre (McGregor Childcare is the school's licensed non-profit childcare centre, which is located on Broadway Campus).

For learning support, VCC offers a bookstore, tutoring services, disability services, and a library. The library house offers a diverse collection of print and electronic materials. The Broadway Library is popular for its broad collection of English Language instructional resources. It also has a number of programs and services for students who want to access access electronic encyclopedias; reference resources and full-text periodicals; access print materials such as books, newspapers, magazines, readers; find videos, CDs and audio cassettes; get help with research for assignments; search electronic databases; search the internet; send e-mail; and use adaptive technology.
