Minimum Eligibility Criteria
A) Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census
B) Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply
C) Be enrolling as an undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall.
D) Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED
E) Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
F) Submit one letter of recommendation online.
Requirements in addition to the APIASF minimum eligibility requirements:
A) Plan to pursue a degree that will lead to a career as a health care professional. Primary health care professionals include: general practitioners, internists, family practitioners, OB/GYNs, dentists, public health professionals, mental health professionals, nurses, physician assistants, and pharmacists. Scholarship recipients must be majoring in a health field to receive renewal scholarships.
B) Demonstrate a commitment to working in underserved communities.
C) Students must reside in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, KS, MN, NC, NM, NV, NY, TN, TX, WA or WI.
D) Enrolling as a full-time, degree-seeking, second-year student in the upcoming academic year at an accredited U.S. college or university.
