Lee S. Evans and his wife Virginia established the Lee S. Evans/National Housing Endowment Scholarship in 1990. An educator and consultant, Mr. Evans has taught thousands of builders how to better manage their businesses.
The Evans' endowed gift, along with the generous contributions of many of Mr. Evan's friends, colleagues and former students, created the scholarship fund to assist in addressing the pressing need for educating and training construction managers in the residential building industry.
The Evans' vision to establish a permanent source of scholarship funding to assist promising students entering the field of residential construction management has helped students nationwide achieve their career goals.
Building upon the proud history of NAHB’s wide range of support for construction education, the National Housing Endowment, Home Builders Institute (HBI), and state and local home builders associations (HBAs) continue to find avenues to educate students on the many opportunities a career in construction offers.
Scholarship applications are now being accepted for the Herman J. Smith, Lee S. Evans, Pulte Group Build Your Future and Professional Women in Building "Strategies for Success" scholarship programs. The application deadline for these programs is Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
The National Housing Endowment also is accepting applications for the EOC Student Scholarship Fund. Applications are due by Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
