Judith Cary Leadership Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Value: $1,000
Awards Available: 1

The P. Buckley Moss Society initiated the Judith Cary Leadership Memorial Scholarship in 1999. It is awarded to a student who is working either full time or part time toward special needs certification or an undergraduate or graduate degree in some field of Special Education.

Judy Cary retired after teaching home economics for 25 years at Ramsey High School in Ramsey, Illinois. For years she served as the membership recruitment coordinator of the P. Buckley Moss Society. She attended every Moss Convention, every trip the Society sponsored, and numerous gallery shows when P. Buckley Moss was making personal appearances. She was also a willing volunteer for many different tasks before her sudden death on January 16, 1998.

Initial funding for this scholarship was provided through donations by Judy’s friends and an auction of a print donated by P. Buckley Moss with framing donated by The Country Framer Gallery. Also, Judy’s Society renewal brooches, generously donated by her family, were sold through a silent auction.

Nominations for the Judith Cary Scholarship can be made only by members of the P. Buckley Moss Society. For information or questions about this scholarship please contact the P. Buckley Moss Foundation at (540) 932-1728.
