Student must be accepted into the Journalism or Graphic Design program. Applicants must be members of a designated group as defined in the Canada Employment Equity Act. Preference is given to students who are members of a visible minority or aboriginal peoples who demonstrate an interest in television journalism and/or visual communications. If there are either no candidates, or not enough candidates from any of the designated groups, the foundation reserves the right to identify other deserving candidates. The selection committee takes into account factors such as academic standing, experience, the quality of the autobiographical essay, community involvement, and financial need. Up to five bursaries of $500 each may also be awarded to deserving students who meet the performance requirements of their program to help with extra expenses, such as expenses incurred for on-the-job training. Submission must include a completed application form and an autobiographical essay.
