Background: This scholarship is established at the University of Prince Edward Island by the family, friends and colleagues of Michael Kelly to honour his life and contribution to Prince Edward Island. This award is intended to assist a deserving Island student who demonstrates leadership, academic and athletic ability to make a similar contribution.
A gentle man, respected and admired by the Island community that he gave so much to, Mike Kelly was an outstanding athlete, a true servant of the public, a kind and loving husband and father, and a generous friend. Reflective, capable, and wise, Mike Kelly was a man successive governments relied upon in the most senior capacity for guidance.
