This bursary was established through a generous donation by Francis Lefaivre, a resident of Calgary, Alberta,at the University of Prince Edward Island to support worthy applicants entering the Transition Program atUPEI. The bursary is created in memory of his mother, Eugenie Ann Pineau, who graduated in 1909 from Prince of WalesCollege, one of UPEI's predecessor institutions. Miss Pineau successfully pursued her education under very difficult financial circumstances. Immediatelyafter graduating, she migrated to Alberta where she became a life-long educator along with raising a family offive children.
