The Edward M. Ewanochko Transportation Scholarship is an award of $500 to a Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) company member employee or employee’s dependent to assist in the costs of post-secondary education. It was created in honour of Edward Ewanochko, a seminal figure in the development of transportation risk management programs in Manitoba, to promote professional growth within the truck transportation industry.
This scholarship provides financial assistance for students pursuing post-secondary education or training. Applicants can be attending or planning to attend university, college, apprenticeship, private vocational institute, distance learning, or continuing education. The scholarship may be used to meet such expenses as tuition or books.
The selection of the Scholarship recipient is based on a combination of academic achievement, community involvement and financial need.
Applicants must reside in the Province of Manitoba and be pursuing post-secondary education in a transportation related discipline; additionally they must be an employee or a dependent of someone employed by a company with membership in the Manitoba Trucking Association.
The Scholarship recipient will be chosen by the Edward M. Ewanochko Transportation Scholarship selection committee. The selection committee will review all applications and announce the award recipient at the MTA Scholarship Luncheon, to be held in August.
