Since 2010, ONPHA has awarded the Kathleen Blinkhorn Aboriginal Student Scholarship to deserving individuals. In 2021, we are excited to award up to five scholarships of $2,000 each.
Eligible uses for the scholarship funds include: tuition, books, technology (laptop, etc.), and transportation.
You are eligible for the scholarship if you meet all of the following criteria:
A) You identify as an Indigenous person
B) You live in non-profit housing in Ontario while attending school
C) You are enrolled in a program at a college, university or private trade school recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
D) You have a full-time or part-time (minimum 60 per cent) course load for the 2021-2022 school year or equivalent.
*Non-profit housing is rental housing that is owned and operated by a non-profit organization including community groups, faith groups, and cities, towns, or counties. Non-profit housing is sometimes called social housing, community housing, public housing, or subsidized housing. If you are unsure if you live in non-profit housing, ask your landlord or property manager.
Individuals living on-reserve while attending school are not eligible for this scholarship. Individuals living in co-operative housing are also not eligible for this scholarship.
