The Biddy Mason Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce our annual Scholarship program, created to assist current and former LA County foster youth. The scholarships may be used for attendance at high school, college, or graduate programs. All accredited educational and vocational institutions will be considered.
A) Must have been or currently is a dependent (foster child) in the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS);
B) Must be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited educational institution: secondary school, vocational school, community college, 4 year college, or university;
C) Minimum GPA: 2.5.
A) Evidence verifying your status as a current or former foster youth: e.g., court papers, case number. (Social worker phone number by itself is not sufficient.)
B) Most recent transcript from current educational institution A) may be unofficial transcript.
C) A personal statement describing your background and your educational plans for the future.
A) A statement of how you intend to use the scholarship funds. Please be very specific.
