The ADEA/GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Preventive Dentistry Scholarships support predoctoral dental students who have demonstrated academic excellence in preventive dentistry.
Overview
Twelve predoctoral dental students will receive the ADEA/GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Preventive Dentistry Scholarships each year.
Eligibility Requirements
An applicant must:
A) Be enrolled at a U.S. or Canadian dental school as a full-time student at the time of submission.
B) Demonstrate, through personal activities and achievements, a strong interest in preventive dentistry.
C) Possess a superior academic record.
D) Be nominated by the dean of his or her dental school or the dean's designate (no more than three nominations are accepted from each school).
E) Be an ADEA Individual Member.
Application Process Checklist
Applicants must submit the following items by Nov. 2, 2020, using the ADEA online application process.
A) A letter from the dean describing the applicant's academic record, achievements and activities (research, community service and program development) in preventive dentistry that have gone beyond those required of all students for graduation.
B) A summary of the insights the student has gained from achievements and activities (research, community service and program development) in preventive dentistry.
C) A current curriculum vitae.
D) Transcripts obtained from the candidate's school registrar verifying academic standing.
