Raise the Line Scholarship

Scholarship Value: $5,000
Awards Available: 6

Osmosis is pleased to announce the return of the Health Education Impact Scholarship!

To apply for the Health Education Impact Scholarship, submit a video of yourself talking about which of these Osmosis values you hope to embody in your career in health.

ELIGIBILITY

The scholarship is aimed at students who are enrolled in or accepted into health professions programs working towards one of the following degrees MD, DO, Physician Assistant, BSN, RN, NP, pharmacology, or dentistry. Eligible candidates include incoming first-year students, as well as all current students who have at least 1 academic year remaining in their studies.. The scholarship is offered to US citizens. Only one entry per person. The scholarship is not available to employees or contractors of Osmosis or their immediate family members. Previous winners are ineligible to reapply. Applicants must complete all steps of the application process to be considered.

A note on eligibility and why this is only open to US students: Osmosis is a US-based organization. There are fewer legal barriers when offering scholarships or giveaways in an organization's home country. Opening this scholarship up internationally means navigating international laws that differ significantly across countries. Currently, the Osmosis legal team isn't equipped to take on this challenge. We're hoping that as Osmosis grows, we'll be able to provide opportunities like the Osmosis Health Education Impact Scholarship to non-US international audiences in the future.

To help "Raise the Line" and strengthen our global healthcare capacity, Osmosis will award 6 students like you with funds that can help pay your rent, ease your tuition fees, or help finance costs when paying for exams.

This way, you can focus on your studies and become the best healthcare provider you can be. You'll be able to help "Raise the Line" to meet the demands of the coming decade and beyond.

How long should the application take?

The application is made up of a few questions and a short video. For the questionnaire, responses to each question should be no longer than 350 words. For the video, we estimate a response should take only about 3 minutes, but it should not exceed more than 5 minutes. With thoughtful consideration to the written and video prompts, we estimate 3–5 hours needed to complete the scholarship. The time it takes to thoughtfully complete the application will not affect your consideration. We are looking for complete and considerate responses.

How do I receive my scholarship funds?

Scholarship winners will be notified October 25, 2021 and will be asked to confirm receipt of the email and provide proof of enrollment in their health science program. Details regarding what constitutes proof of enrollment can be found in the official rules. We'll work with the winners to arrange the award. As a reminder, you can be asked to show proof of expenditure.

Can I apply to the scholarship if I applied last year?

We highly encourage you to apply to the scholarship again. Keep in mind that we've updated the questions, so approach it with a fresh perspective-we will not be accepting videos that were submitted as part of prior years' applications. Also consider the eligibility requirements in applying for the scholarship. Only currently enrolled or those expected to enroll as first years are eligible to apply.
