David W. Driver established this scholarship to provide financial assistance to students attending his alma mater, Emory & Henry College. This scholarship will be awarded annually for four years at $1,500 per year to a qualified incoming Emory & Henry College student based on the scholarship criteria. Emory & Henry College shall provide information on eligible students for this scholarship to The Community Foundation. Students will be required to complete an online application with The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg & Rockingham County. Students eligible for this award must be graduating from one of the following high schools located in Harrisonburg, Virginia or Rockingham County:
Harrisonburg High School
Broadway High School
Spotswood High School
East Rock High School
Turner Ashby High School
Eastern Mennonite School
REQUIREMENTS
An eligible student must be a high school senior, graduating from one of the above listed high schools located in Harrisonburg or Rockingham County, who has been accepted at Emory & Henry College to obtain a Bachelors Degree. Students will be considered based on the following criteria:
a. 2.5 minimum GPA
b. demonstration of good character
c. determination and self-motivation
d. leadership qualities
e. community involvement
This scholarship is intended to support the student for their four year education at Emory & Henry College as long as the student maintains satisfactory academic standing, preferably with a GPA of 2.5 or better on a scale of 4.0 and a minimum term GPA of 2.0.
