The Georgia Association of Educators Foundation exists to provide enhanced educational opportunities for every student by training, developing and empowering Georgia's public school educators. As part of this mission, the GAE Foundation provides $1,000 scholarships each year to high school seniors who plan to be a future Georgia teacher. So, if you want to teach and make a difference in the life of a student, the GAE Foundation wants to help you achieve your goal.
Eligibility
All High School Seniors that have or will graduate in 2019 from a Georgia Public High School and plan to attend a College or University in Georgia and major in teaching/education are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Each scholarship award will be $1,000.
Requirements
A. Please read all instructions carefully before completing this application.
B. Complete the scholarship application form in its entirety. Type the application (preferred) or print legibly. Sign and date the application form.
C. Complete an essay up to 500 words. The topic of the essay is "Identify the Teacher Who Inspired You to Consider Becoming a Teacher and Why?" The essay should be typed using a 12-point or larger font.
D. Submit an official copy of your high school transcript.
E. Submit two sealed letters of recommendation. At least one of the letters should be from a teacher, counselor or other person from your high school.
F. Submit the entire packet by the deadline date of February 1, 2019. Incomplete scholarship application packets will not be eligible for consideration. Submit your application using one-sided documents. Do not staple. Application packets must be postmarked by February 1, 2019.
