With graduation season fast approaching, many high school students are starting to plan how they'll pay for college. Committed to helping first-year college students with limited financial resources achieve high academic goals, the Charles Harbin Memorial Scholarship Fund is proud to again be offering a deserving candidate with a college scholarship award.
Charles Harbin
A natural born traveler and educator, Sandy Springs resident Charles J. Harbin, III explored the world and taught literature in the U.S. and abroad. Charles was a popular Roswell High School teacher and soccer coach, nicknamed "Harbs" by students. He connected with his class through books, humor, lively discussions and popular music. Charles found his calling in education and this scholarship serves as a keynote remembrance of him and his dedication to his students.
Scholarship Application Criteria
Applicants must currently be a high school senior entering an accredited U.S. college or university for the first time in fall 2019, and have a GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. To qualify, you must have a college acceptance letter, be pursuing an undergraduate degree, be a resident of the state of Georgia, and demonstrate financial need.
