For college-bound graduating seniors who have participated in athletics at Section V schools. Each school in Section V may select one male and one female student to complete the application. Applicants need not be the best natural athletes or scholars, but should demonstrate "110 percent" effort in studies and chosen sports. Financial need may be considered, but is not a determining factor.
The selection process is coordinated through Section V. A committee comprised of Section V representatives and other community members reviews applications and selects recipient(s). Finalists may be interviewed by the committee.
The application process is coordinated through the Community Foundation and Section V. Each eligible school nominates one male and one female to complete the application. After all of the nominations are collected, the Community Foundation sends an email inviting students to complete the online application.
