The N. G. Kaul Memorial Scholarship Fund will be offering up to $5000 in scholarships to students pursuing graduate or doctoral degrees in environmental/civil engineering or environmental science concentrating on water quality who show a commitment to government service.
Application deadline is February 28.
Instructions for Applicants
A) Please provide all the information requested in the application. Only typed essays will be accepted. Provide a letter on college stationary verifying enrollment or acceptance in a college environmental program.
B) Provide Letters of Recommendation (minimum of two).
C) Provide an official transcript.
D) Provide two (2) requested essays (see below).
E) Provide a copy of your resume.
F) Submit your completed application no later than February 28 to The N.G. Kaul Memorial Scholarship Fund, New York Water Environment Association, 525 Plum Street, Suite 102, Syracuse, New York 13204. Awards will be announced in the Spring.
Scholarship Policy and Procedures
The N.G. Kaul Scholarships are awarded annually to college students pursuing graduate or doctoral degrees in environmental/civil engineering or environmental science concentrating on water quality who also demonstrate a commitment to government service.
Scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria:
A) Interest in Government Service (Essay): Demonstrates a commitment to pursue a career in government service,
B) Career Objective (Essay): Relevance of career objective to the environmental field related to water quality,
C) Academic Potential: Grade Point Average and difficulty of courses taken,
D) Other Activities: Activities in programs and organizations demonstrating leadership abilities, and
E) Character: Demonstrates an overall sense of good moral character and citizenship.
