One (1) $1,500 scholarship will be given annually to a Junior or Senior in college who is a graduate of Scottsbluff Senior High School and is majoring in education.
To qualify for the Laurie Haugen Educational Scholarship, students must:
A) Be a United States citizen
B) Be a graduate of Scottsbluff Senior High School
C) Be a Junior or Senior in college
D) Currently be enrolled in twelve (12) semester hours or eighteen (18) quarter hours at an accredited college or university
E) Be majoring in education or teaching
F) Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Deadline for application and supporting documents is April 1 at 5 p.m.
A) Legibly complete and sign the application
B) Attach three (3) letters of recommendation
C) Attach a personal written essay stating their need and desire for the scholarship and signed by the student
D) Attach a copy of their current college transcript
A winner and an alternate will be selected by the OTCF Scholarship Committee. The scholarship will be rescinded and awarded to the alternate if the recipient does not enroll as a full-time student for the year for which the scholarship is awarded. The scholarship will be paid directly to the school for credit to the student's account.
