Julie Enberg Memorial Scholarship Fund will provide financial assistance to female undergraduate athletes at the University of Minnesota Duluth. The Fund was established to honor Julie's dedication to sports, especially hockey, and her commitment to both her community and the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Application Instructions
Eligible applicants must:
A) Be female
B) Attend UMD
C) Have participated in at least one season of intercollegiate athletics
D) Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
E) Have lived in the MN counties of Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake or St. Louis, or the WI counties of Ashland, Douglas or Bayfield prior to attending UMD
Athletes should complete and submit the application by the January 15th deadline. Applications must also include a transcript and two letters of recommendation, one from a UMD women's athletics coach.
Selection Criteria
The Scholarship Committee of the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation will make selections for approval of the DSACF board of trustees. They will base their decision on the applicant's commitment to her sport(s), school and/or community involvement, recommendations, and academic record.
Awards Given from Fund
One scholarship (of about $1000/year), co-payable to the student and institution will be awarded each year. Generally, this annual award is divided into two installments--half for fall, half for spring.
