Empowered Physician Scholarship
Since 1990, PracticeMatch has empowered physicians with career opportunities that match their personal and professional goals. PracticeMatch is excited to start a new tradition to assist medical students, residents, and fellows in their passion and drive to care for others. The PracticeMatch Empowered Physician Scholarship has been founded to award students who exhibit community involvement and dedication to caring for others.
This scholarship will help offset the high cost of education for current medical school students or medical students currently completing a residency or fellowship. To enter, submit an essay (minimum of 500 words) about your inspiration for pursuing a medical career, and how you plan to use your education to better your community and make a difference in the lives of others. The winner will receive $2000 to be put towards his or her medical school education.
Submissions are due by December 4th, 2020. A winner will be announced on January 6th, 2021 on our website. The winning essay will be published on our website and our social media pages.
Essays will be judged on whether the student is able to express and validate his or her view-not on whether PracticeMatch agrees with the view the student expresses. Judges will look for writing that is clear, articulate and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp on the value of caring for others through a medical career.
Judges include the PracticeMatch executive team and departmental directors who have a close appreciation on the value and impact of healthcare providers in their community and across the nation.
