The Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation is committed to creating a world where engineering meets the needs and challenges of society by engaging the skills and talents of both women and men alike. To that end, we are dedicated to attracting women to the engineering profession so they may fully contribute to the development of our society and in so doing, honour the memory of the 14 women from L' Ecole Polytechnique whose contributions to Canada ended on December 6, 1989.
1) CEMF Regional Awards - $5,000
There is one undergraduate award for each region.
2) Marie Carter Memorial - $5,000
The Foundation is pleased to offer an award in memory of Marie Carter, P.Eng., to a Canadian woman in engineering at the undergraduate level of study
3) Dillon Consulting - $5,000
In partnership with Dillon Consulting Limited, CEMF provides an award to a Canadian woman in engineering at the undergraduate level.
4) Nellie Giffin - $5,000
In partnership with Frontier Field Engineering, CEMF is pleased to offer the Nellie Giffin award in the memory of Matthew Killawee's grand mother.
5) Rona Hatt Chemical Engineering - $5,000
The Foundation named this award after the first known woman in Canada who became a chemical engineer.
6) Enbridge - $10,000
In partnership with Enbridge, CEMF provides an award to a Canadian woman in engineering at the undergraduate level.
7) Hatch Engineering Award - $10,000
Support women studying engineering full-time in a Quebec university. Hatch can opt to include a summer job opportunity/internship as part of the award. If offered, Hatch will work with the award recipient to find a position that is mutually acceptable to both parties at the experience level, skill level and remuneration equal to the award winners' abilities.
