The Betty Hansen Memorial Scholarship Program was established by the Cuyahoga County Farm Bureau in 1992 to honor Betty Hansen for her leadership to the organization as a former president and board member of the Cuyahoga County Farm Bureau and her lifetime profession as a greenhouse farmer in Cuyahoga County. The objective of the scholarship program is to assist Farm Bureau members or their dependent children who are interested in pursuing a college or advanced technical education.
Scholarship Amount: Minimum $250.00 Maximum $1000.00
Qualifications of Applicant
A) Applicant (or parent of applicant) must be a Cuyahoga Farm Bureau member.
B) Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student in a college or university program at an Ohio college or technical school .
C) Applicant must be continuing his/her education as an undergraduate or graduate student with an average to above-average scholarship standing.
D) Recipient may reapply annually for a maximum of five years.
A three-member scholarship committee will select the recipients from the applications submitted.
Scholarship applications will be evaluated using a point system based on career choice, school involvement
and leadership, community service and grades and Farm Bureau participation.
The scholarship application is available at the county Farm Bureau office or can be downloaded after March 1 each year.
