The purpose of the Lauren P. Miller Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to individuals who are participating in a Registered Apprenticeship Program with the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.* Although individuals of all trades will be considered, special attention will be given to the automotive and construction trades e.g. carpentry, plumbing and electrical.
A) Geographic requirements: Applicants must be residents of Wyoming.
B) Number and Duration of Awards: At least 10 scholarships of $600 will be awarded each year. Number of scholarships will vary in accordance to availability of funds.
C) Personal Requirements: As stipulated by the fund, “worthy candidates should be non-smokers and non-drinkers of alcoholic beverages who would be willing to sign a statement to that effect.”
D) Payment of Scholarship: The scholarship is made payable directly to the individual applicant. WYCF will not issue 1099 forms to award winners but it should be understood that all scholarship funds should be declared as income and may be taxed.
E) Other Awards: This scholarship may be accepted in addition to other awards.
