Jeremy Gidlund Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Value: $1,500
Awards Available: 3

The "Jeremy Gidlund Memorial Scholarship" has been established by friends, family and the Lindbergh High School Community as a permanent fund within the Renton Community Foundation, a 501 (C)3, non-profit organization. Jeremy was the son of John and Pam Gidlund and a graduate of Charles A. Lindbergh High School in 2005. At the time of his death on March 24th, 2007, Jeremy had just finished a welding certification program at Renton Technical College. Jeremy entered RTC's welding program at the start of his senior year as part of the Running Start Program.

Jeremy's years at Lindbergh were memorable. Staff and students remember his winning smile and eagerness to please. Jeremy's learning disabilities covered several academic areas, such as reading, writing, math and comprehension. Though Jeremy had a variety of disabilities, this never stopped his zest for school. Running Start and completing the Renton Technical College certification program gave him a real feeling of accomplishment. The Jeremy Gidlund Memorial Scholarship will serve as a stepping stone for those like Jeremy who have a positive spirit and a "can-do" attitude.
