The College has two campuses: Vermilion Campus, and Lloydminster Campus. Lakeland is the only one out of the two student-managed farms (crops and livestock) that exist in North America. The Crop Technology program allows students to use the Student Managed Farm (SMF) to develop and improve grain farming skills, such as GIS technology, operation and utilization of the GPS, management of farm finance, machinery operation, and specialty crop marketing (oilseed and grain).
Their other facilities include: the Alumni House, The Learning Centre, Conference Services, Alumni Theatre, Vic Juba Community Theatre, Vermilion Aquatic Centre, and Student Employment Centre. Students can also avail of the housing accommodation of the school. Their available residences are in the Vermilion (Single Student Housing, Family Housing, and Rent) and Lloydminster (Single Student Residences--Spinwheels and Family Student Residences -- Townhouses) campuses.
Lakeland knows that going to college isn’t just confined in the classroom walls. Clubs are a great way to get out of the academic environment and connect with friends, pursue interests, and develop newfound hobbies. The Lakeland College Rustlers is the varsity team of the school, and it competes in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference in basketball, volleyball, and curling. Cross-Country and Soccer will also be added in 2010. The Rustlers are competitive in Rodeo, Curling, and Rowing, and it is the only college team that competes with Western Canadian university crews for Rowing events. Vermilion is a town in Vermilion River County, central Alberta, Canada. For a small town, Vermilion is the hometown of several prominent Canadians, including cross-country skier Beckie Scott, hockey player Jeff Woywitka, cookbook author Jean Paré.
In Vermillion there is a new community centre be build. This new community centre will be located on land west of the Agricultural Society fairgrounds, 6 acres generously donated by the Lakeland College and Alberta Advanced Education. The design is projected to include a large hall, banquet area, and meeting rooms, but will ultimately lead up to the final amount of money raised. This building is intended to cater up to banquets of 600 people, crowds of 1000 seated people, and other similar situations. The blueprints have also been planned to accommodate several groups such as the Toy Lending Library and dance programs now currently sheltered in the aging Morrison Cultural Centre.
